Elon Musk firmly established Tesla as the driving force behind electric cars, ensuring the firm's lasting legacy. Elon Musk literally took a nascent industry from Zero to One (to quote Peter Thiel). To move ahead, Musk would need to scout for alternative and more efficient manufacturing options in developing countries, which will be Tesla's biggest market. Tesla will never be able to complete against the likes of BYD Auto, and that's where the competition is clearly coming from. These new EV Models need to be able to meet the budgets of the middle class in developing countries if EVs were to eventually displace the internal combustion engine.
