I am not sure whether services are really the way out. You would still need manufacturing for the high-end components that would build the army of drones that Amazon would use to deliver your pillows and quilts home.

You would still need the Telecommunication equipment to make 5G, 6G and even beyond possible, which means more towers, switches, etc .. Yes a lot of people in the service sector would be employed, but "manufacturing" still has some skin left in the game.

How much of that will be in the US vs China/Taiwan is the real question. There are the new gadgets in the evolving world - the Drones, the robots as well as a whole host of other miniaturized gadgets that would compete for the future - that's where the next battle will be.

China has already lined up their troops there with the Governments A.I. for 2030 plan. We truly live in interesting times.
