Just for the record, I am not trying to defend hype cycles nor waves, but we need to understand that predictions from these research & advisory firms, as you pointed out, are based on existing players their control of the market, their traction with customers, revenues, possibly the number of POC's in progress and a whole host of other things which they have documented. While the may be able to predict an industry through its stages of maturity, they do not have the ability to predict disruptions, such as the onslaught of GenAI, wifi, the mobile phone, etc.. like you mentioned. These are after all mini black-swans in their own right.
