China is already encouraging trades between countries in Africa and South East Asia to be settled in Renminbi (those where they hold considerable sway), which is mostly in Africa. However any country that wants to push its currency regional needs to have a stable economy and a currency that global investors or even sovereign states feel confident of holding. China is yet to show up on this front.
