Within the startup eco-system too, burnout is very widespread. It's amazing how people push themselves to the brink, feel relieved when they press the delete button, and then wake up the next morning not knowing what to do with all of this extra time. As you correctly pointed out, the issue lies in this dance between the two extremes. This is the vocation for many members of Gen Z, and even some millenials, or whoever has the patience or time to spend a significant portion of their life pursuing likes. In many ways, this reminds me of the same work-obsessive tendencies that members of my generation, Gen X, possessed in our prime. The risk nowadays is that, unlike our generation, which could choose to leave work at the office and occasionally didn't give a damn about what a few people said, Gen Z might become really agitated over a random tweet or comment at two in the morning and even start to sweat over it. Technology has brought humanity vast chances and acts as a great leveler, yet those who are ambitious will always want more.
